Risalat Summer Course 2018

By the grace of Almighty Allah the 4th Risalat Summer Course was held in cooperation by the IIIS and the RII, from August 19th to 31st 2018 in Qum and Mashhad.

Testimonials:
The Risalat summer course is the perfect balance of ziyarah trips, touristic visits and religious education. Attending the classes and being taught by the respected scholars was a much needed break from daily routine and the perfect opportunity for guided reflection.
Throughout the trip, we developed a greater spiritual connection with Imam Mehdi (AS) through reading dua alfaraj and a constant reminder of his presence which was a beautiful and calming feeling.
I am truly grateful to Allah swt for giving me and others the opportunity to attend this course and build the connections that I did, and Inshallah it will continue at the high standard it is at. Thank you to all who made this possible!!

Attending Risalat 2018 for the first time, it was brilliant! From walking through the cold breeze to Jamkaran at Fajr to the tedious coach journeys, Risalat Institute teaches you what balance really is: the balance of character, the balance in religion, the balance in life, but more importantly, the balance in our relationship between ourselves & Allah (swt)

The 2 weeks in Iran were some of the best two weeks I have ever spent abroad. Attending lessons for the duration of the trip was also an experience new to me. Being so close to some of the hubs of Islamic Studies in the world left me in awe, as we studied everything; from Tawhid to Imamat, from as anthropology to Qiyaamah. Being taught by experts in their fields, as well as finding answers to a lot of questions I had in my mind, made me more confident in my Deen leaving than when I had arrived.
The AT Award is something I encourage all young members of our community to sign up to. Not only do you get to complete a Ziyaarah, you gain friends for life, and an experience that you will never forget.

The Risalat Summer Course of 2018 was an eye-opening and life-changing experience for me. It really impacted me spiritually in ways that are hard to describe. I vividly remember moments such as going in groups to Jamkaran Mosque in the night for Fajr Prayer, listening to the incredible stories of martyrs from the Iran-Iraq war whilst next to their blessed graves in Golzar-e-Shohada, the garden of martyrs, standing with hands outstretched reciting the Dua of Imam Hussain on the day of Arafah in the shrine of Bibi Masooma, taking a walk to the top of Prophet Khidr Mountain where we prayed the Maghrib and Isha salaat and holding the shrine of Imam Reza tightly and fervently asking for my wishes as I performed his ziyarat. All these experiences made me feel closer to my creator and reminded me of the many blessings I had.
Another aspect of the course that was hugely beneficial for me was the curriculum that had strong Islamic roots and invited us to ponder upon the meaning of every lesson and to gain knowledge for its own sake. The scholars who taught us were very humble yet accomplished and happily made every effort to engage with us and answer the many questions we had allowing us to strengthen our understanding of our religion. I really appreciated the strong emphasis on wilaya, especially the remembrance of our allegiance to Imam Mahdi (a.s.) and these lessons gave me both an insatiable thirst for Islamic knowledge as well as a reminder that I had a duty to use this knowledge to help my Imam.
